The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish.Â
As with all of our Chess sets, the Wild Knight Series exemplifies a perfect combination of distinct beauty and functionality. The Chessmen are new and each set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard that was introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.
THE CHESSBOARD:
Crafted in Spain, the House of Staunton's Standard Traditional Wenge / Maple Wooden Chessboard - Satin Finish features Wenge (dark) and Maple (light) squares with a Wenge frame. This veneered Chessboard is 0.5'' thick and has a satin finish.
THE CHESSBOX:
The Slide Top Chess Box is the most economical way to protect your chess pieces. It comes with a removable green pillow lining that allows it to hold a set of chess pieces of various sizes, from 3.0" to 4.4".
Features:
- Convenient Slide Top lid for easy access and secured storage of your chess pieces.
- The House of Staunton Logo is silkscreened on the lid.
- Holds a full set of chess pieces (34 including Additional Queens) with King Heights Between 3" and 4.4"
- Has 2 large storage compartments, one for each army of chess pieces.
