Genuine Ebony

This set of Pegasus Series Wood Chess Pieces has two really unique pieces, although all of the pieces are outstanding.

 
The King is a large 4 1/2" tall and has a base 1 7/8" inches. Of course, he has a very regal stance. But it is his crown that sets him apart from kings in other sets -- his crown is removable and three different crowns come for each side of the board so you can choose a different one whenever you like.
 
This beautiful set is named for the Knight. Remember Pegasus from your Greek Mythology? He is a winged horse, who, it is reported, brought lightning and thunder from Olympus. If any Knight could do this it is the one in this chess set. His mane flows behind him as he speeds across your board in defense of his royal master. He is 3 1/8 tall and has a base of 1 5/8 inches.
 
These pieces are weighted. Due to the size of this set, you will want to choose a board with a square of 2.25 to 2.75 inches.
