These chessmen are an accurate reproduction the famous Lasker Chessmen which were originally produced between 1880 and 1890 and which were used in many tournaments, both here and in Europe.  This redesign was executed by Frank Camaratta and is based on the original antique chessmen from his collection. The chess pieces are Natural Boxwood and Ebonized Boxwood. The King stands 4-0ââł tall with a 1-7/8âł diameter base. This is often referred to as the âLibrary Collection.â  The chessmen rest atop green English baize and are heavily weighted. The White King is stamped âF. Camaratta U.S.A. â on the rim of the base. The Kingside Rooks and Knights are stamped with a Kingâs crown on their summits. The set includes an extra pair of Queens to facilitate Pawn Promotion. The chessmen are accompanied by an accurate reproduction of the original green manufacturerâs label as well as a certificate of authenticity.
