The House of Staunton is proud to offer the Bedford Series Chess set. Designed by the Maestro, this full tournament-sized Chess set features a 3.75" King with a 1.6" diameter base. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish.
There's a common saying - what's old is new again - and it perfectly describes the Bedford Series Chess Set. It's design was inspired by many of the Maestro's favorite, yet unusual antique Chess sets. While such features as the flower-like Bishop mitre and the spherical King head are a bit unusual by today's standards, that wasn't always the case.
