Genuine Ebony and Antiqued Boxwood

The House of Staunton is proud to offer an exact Reproduction of the Circa 1856 Anderssen Style Staunton Chessmen. Recreated by noted Staunton authority, Frank A. Camaratta, Jr., this heirloom-quality Chess set features a 3.5" King with a 1.75" diameter base and is heavily weighted. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. Each of the chessmen rests atop green English baize base pads. These chessmen are accurate –right down to the impression of a red king’s crown on the summits of one Knight and Rook from each army to designate the Kingside piece.

Here’s your chance to own a set of tournament-sized Anderssen Style Staunton chessmen exactly as they looked when they first appeared in retail outlets in 1856.
